Chlorpheniramine is the least sedating of the first generation antihistamines.

Chlorpheniramine is considered a drug of choice in pregnancy for rhinorrhea and sneezing.

[edit] DOSAGE

  • Patients 6-12 years of age: 2 mg every 4-6 hr; maximum dose 12 mg/24 hr
  • Patients > 12 years of age: 4 mg every 4-6 hr; maximum dose 24 mg/24 hr
